Why did you choose TrustPay?

I have been involved in the world of e-commerce and online payments for more than 15 years. I have many relevant contacts, colleagues, and friends in the industry and professional network with whom I am connected, not only by work matters. When the offer from TrustPay came at the end of 2022, I saw it as another career move where I would also learn something new about international business and be involved in everything essential that happens in the world of online payments.

What position are you currently working in, and what do you enjoy most about it?

I am in the position of Business Development Manager, and my task is to establish new business partnerships, connect business opportunities, and of course, direct acquisition of new customers. What I enjoy most is when a customer describes what they ideally need, how difficult it is to find it all in one package, and then gradually realizes that TrustPay is the right partner who can cover most of their needs, not only for international expansion. It’s nice to hear when a customer says, “This is exactly what we were looking for.”

What do you value most about your work, and what is your biggest challenge at the moment?

I value most that I have a job that I truly enjoy. I see TrustPay as an innovative fintech company that provides me with an overview of all the news and trends. I can constantly learn something new and enhance my professional knowledge. At the same time, I appreciate the company’s setup, which, despite its size, is not a corporation; on the contrary, there is a friendly atmosphere supported by the management’s trust. And my biggest challenge? To elevate TrustPay’s profile in the Czech market and establish partnerships with selected e-shops from the top 10 Czech e-commerce scene.

What are your relationships with colleagues within the company and how do you evaluate the corporate culture of TrustPay?

I consider relationships with colleagues to be a very important part of the job, especially in my case, as I work remotely from Prague and visit the office colleagues 1-2 times a month for a few days. Otherwise, we are in contact mainly online, where, due to a similar mindset, we can quickly understand each other’s needs, help out, or direct to a colleague who can advise better on a particular problem. The corporate culture is very friendly and open, with regular joint events and team building, which we all look forward to.

What does a typical day look like in your position?

A typical workday starts with morning coffee, during which I prepare my daily agenda. It depends on the current e-commerce season, the number of meetings, and the resulting tasks, such as creating offers and calculations. In the mornings, I mostly spend time finding new contacts, monitoring the market, reading market news, and dealing with emails. At the same time, I handle ongoing acquisitions, planning the timing of possible cooperation according to customer needs, and so on. After lunch, I have time to process calculations and offers. Later on, I have scheduled meetings with customers, which often last until late afternoon. A pleasant change is an invitation to lunch, dinner, or various events and conferences, where I can meet other colleagues and business partners.

As a salesperson, you also attend many events, do you remember any funny moments?

Every year, at TrustPay, we attend numerous events and conferences where there is never a shortage of amusing moments. During my first event, I recall a moment when I found myself alone at our booth because my colleagues were collapsing from hunger or perhaps thirst. 😀 Or was it more of a test for a newbie? To this day, I’m not sure, but many people stopped by our stand at once, and I couldn’t handle them because of their interest in detailed information. Consequently, a queue of potential customers began forming – some waited, presuming the long line was for coffee, only to discover it was at the neighboring booth 😄. They eventually realized their mistake, and we shared a laugh. I joined some of them for coffee afterward, and thanks to that, I successfully transformed initial contacts from my first event into genuine cooperation.
