Meet TrustPay Team: Interview with Miroslava Lipková, Director of Operations and Quality Assurance

Why did you choose TrustPay?

I decided that I needed a change after a year and a half in my first job straight after the university. My only condition at that time was that I had to really like it. I have always had a good relationship with numbers, and I was good at mathematics. Since I am a big detailist, I wanted to use this quality as an advantage in my daily work. From the description of TrustPay, I got the impression that I would not be bored there, and fortunately, my expectations were fulfilled.

I’m not afraid of responsibility, I like to learn new things and I really enjoy my everyday work in TrustPay. I am definitely not the only one here, who has developed a healthy “addiction” to work.  😊

What position are you currently working in, and what do you enjoy most about it?

I started in TrustPay as a payment operator in 2014. I gradually went through all the company processes and worked my way to my current position – Director of Operations and Quality Assurance.

Currently, I have my team of people in the payment department and a team of testers. Although we have a relatively strict daily and monthly agenda, our work is different every day. We always encounter new situations, different requirements and we need to solve various problems and bring better solutions.

We modernize our system and this way we are always improving services provided to our customers. Every employee is part of the development and ideas and comments from each move us forward as a company.

I’m not afraid of responsibility, I like to learn new things and I really enjoy my everyday work in TrustPay. I am definitely not the only one here, who has developed a healthy “addiction” to work.  😊

What do you value most about your work and what is the biggest challenge for you at the moment?

I appreciate the trust of superiors, friendly relationships with my colleagues, and the opportunity to grow within departments and also throughout the company.

Even though I have been in the company for quite a long time, I am still learning new things. I like that I can personally try out new technologies, participate in their development, and know the details behind the scenes. Skills that I developed working in TrustPay also give me an advantage when dealing with different situations in my private life.

What are your relationships with colleagues within the company and how do you evaluate the corporate culture of TrustPay?

Relationships between colleagues are very good and we always have something to talk about – both professionally or privately. We can maintain a good mood in any situation and encourage each other as a team. Departments within the company help each other and everyone is willing to give advice when needed.

TrustPay regularly organizes teambuilding activities, where we always have fun together as one big team. Even the Covid pandemic did not stop us and we had many interesting online activities.

TrustPay also supports its employees’ physical condition and health by participating in yoga or pilates online classes. For 4 years in a row, we have also been part of the project “to work by bicycle ” – this way, we can together help our planet.

What does a typical day look like in your position?

I can never say how exactly my day will look like –  the only certainty is morning coffee. 😊

We have a varied and broad agenda – we solve together with my team common daily tasks related to bank transfers, acquiring services, card complaints, financial reports, and system testing within new requirements and improvements.

I am attending internal meetings almost on daily basis with our analysts and developers and I also participate in joint meetings with other departments. Last but not least, my job is to put all the information and plans together and ensure that my colleagues have access to this information, whether in the form of procedures or trainings.

Any fun moments from working at TrustPay?

We’ve had many funny moments, but there is one, that I will definitely never forget.

It wasn’t so much fun for me at first, only after overcoming the shock, but my colleagues had a pretty fun time. When I was in the company for about 2 months one colleague sent me a SMS on behalf of our CEO saying that I should stop by his office to sign the resignation. Now, I cannot understand how I could believe it but my facial expression when I opened that message must have been very interesting. Colleagues were joking about it at least for a month. 😊
