SANITINO a European retailer of bathroom and kitchen equipment based in the Czech Republic, is solidifying its market position and enhancing customer convenience through collaboration with TrustPay.
Committed to providing quality products from both local and global suppliers, SANITINO recognizes the importance of an efficient and secure system that ensures a positive and seamless payment process for its customers. SANITINO has chosen to collaborate with TrustPay due to its extensive offering of local payment methods, making it an ideal partner for companies with ambitions to address new markets and expand their reach.
SANITINO’s focus on its customers and the need to adapt to their preferences in payment methods led to the initiation of cooperation and integration of these options through TrustPay. The result of this partnership is not only increased accessibility of their products to a wider customer base but also the assurance of a smooth and reliable payment process, contributing to an overall enhancement of the shopping experience.
Challenge
SANITINO currently operates in ten markets, including Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Austria, Germany, France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Italy, Spain, and Romania, and is concurrently in the process of launching its eleventh European market – Poland.
After initiating cooperation with TrustPay, experts in expansion, they were introduced to payment methods tailored to the countries in which they operate. Local payment methods are no longer just alternatives; they have a greater presence than traditional card payments in certain countries. Integrating them into the payment mix should improve the user experience and lead to increased conversion rates.
Solution
After successfully deploying local payment methods, SANITINO noticed changes in customer payment behavior. The most significant example is the iDeal payment method in the Netherlands, used by 78% of their customers compared to the share of card payments.
A similar significant dominance in the market is also seen with the Belgian Bancontact, with a share of 68% compared to card payments.
Regarding the French market, there is another specificity: the local card scheme Cartes Bancaires, whose integration into SANITINO’s payment mix showed a 50% share compared to payments through Visa and MasterCard.
Overall, SANITINO’s turnover increased by 5% due to the expansion of its payment portfolio with new locally popular payment methods. This increase applied to markets where a new payment method was added, specifically in France, the Netherlands, and Belgium.
As Jan Flídr, an economist from SANITINO, stated, “We believe that the key to success was not only providing quality products but also the ability to adapt to customer needs in individual countries through offering various payment options.”
One of the additional benefits of the cooperation is the active use of the Merchant Portal, an innovative user interface where SANITINO can manage all its projects clearly in one place and monitor transactions in real-time.
“Adjusting the payment window design to match the website’s colors further enhanced the shopping experience. TrustPay’s payment gateway is modern and contains everything our customers demand,” said Jan Flídr.
He added, “Partnering with TrustPay helped us move forward and expand our range of payment options, which helps us compete with other players in foreign markets.”
It is essential to monitor current trends in the industry in which the merchant operates, but it is equally important to be informed about the payment method preferences that customers expect in a given country. Offering their preferred payment methods ensures a smooth purchase and ultimately contributes to increased customer satisfaction.
In addition to technological aspects, TrustPay also values a human approach to clients. Internal payment experts, who have a deep understanding not only of technological aspects but also of customer needs and goals, provide assistance and recommendations, as was the case with SANITINO.
SANITINO was assigned its own Account Manager, who brings a personal approach, responds to their feedback and questions, and is always ready to provide individual support. This personal interaction contributes to the smooth operation of cooperation and ensures that SANITINO always feels that we are actively contributing to their success.
Results
The mutual collaboration demonstrates the importance of integrating local payment methods into the payment gateway during expansion. Thanks to our services and recommendations, SANITINO has established itself as a successful player in multiple markets, achieving increased sales volume and maintaining customer satisfaction.
